Welcome

Aim High Academy Trust is a not for profit, publically accountable, Multi Academy Trust who act as a Multi-Academy Sponsor within the clear geographical context of the Coalfields area of Sunderland.  Its members and directors, who are appointed on a voluntary basis, are drawn from wide experiences both within the private and public sector, and bring significant educational and other professional expertise to the trust.  With a predecessor primary school history going back to 2006, the trust has the expertise, capacity and experience to secure transformational change and sustainable improvement within our schools.  Our vision is to provide tailored and specific solutions to all the schools in our trust, through the involvement and co-ordination of our core improvement team (Executive Head Techer, Assistant Executive Head Teacher, Academy Improvement leads and Finance lead) along with the sharing of outstanding practice between our families of schools.  Aim High Academy Trust is committed to inspiring, supporting and enabling all pupils to aim high, believe in themselves, achieve their full potential and develop the skills needed to succeed and enjoy life.

Newbottle Primary converted to academy status in February 2014. We are a large successful co-educational primary academy for children of all abilities from 3 to 11 years of age. The academy is not affiliated to any particular religious denomination and is located slightly south of the village of Newbottle, approximately 5 miles from the centre of Sunderland and 7 miles from the centre of Durham.  We occupy a modern, single storey building which was built and opened in 1993. The school also has an extensive forest within its grounds and offers an outdoor environment programme to all of our pupils. The school is proud of its many sporting and artistic awards.  Newbottle Primary Academy aims to promote a safe, happy and responsible community in which children can learn and be valued as individuals.  The school subscribes to the values of Aim High Academy Trust as set out in the Trusts strategic plan.
